Equipment and rarity

Where each piece drops, what each rarity means and how to make gear stronger.

Slots and level

A character wears 11 pieces: Amulet, Hat, Backpack, Weapon, Armor, Shield, Ring, Legs, Bait, Boots, Pet. Each item has a minimum level to equip. The Backpack's size is the sum of the bags worn by every character, in the crew or in port.

Where it drops

  • The boss of each hunt drops the best weapons its level reaches: the other two weapon types at 20% and the hunt's own type, rarer, at 5%. Rotating between hunt types is faster than staying in one.
  • Armor and accessories at 12.5%, by hunt type: Net: Hat, Armor, Shield; Water gun: Legs, Boots, Ring; Moss gun: Backpack, Amulet, Bait.
  • Common monsters drop the same list with the chance ÷ 70 (a round has about that many monsters per boss).
  • Spell items: each one drops from a single boss, at 1%.
  • Top hunts (level 720 and up) drop the best items ×1.5 more often.

The Cyclopedia in this wiki lists where every item drops, with the exact chances.

Rarity

Every piece that drops rolls a rarity. The item's base bonus is always the same; each rarity above Common adds random extra attributes (never repeated), each worth from 1 point up to the rarity's cap.

RarityExtrasPoints per extraMax upgradeBase chanceSale price
Common0——61.6%×1
Uncommon11–4+228%×1.5
Rare21–6+410%×2.5
Epic31–8+60.3%×4
Legendary41–10+80.1%×7
Mythic51–12+100%×12

Monsters drop up to Epic; hunt bosses up to Legendary; Mythic only comes from the daily bosses.

Epic and above are more common in low hunts, where pieces are weak: their weight is ×2 at level 1, falling in a straight line to ×0.5 at level 800.

Extra attributes

Extras come from this list: damage, critical chance, critical damage, lifesteal, hit chance, attack speed, max life, regeneration, protection, block, fire, toxic, ice and death resistance, movement speed, experience and loot chance.

Upgrades (+N)

Each +1 adds 5% of the item's base attributes (and of the weapon's damage). Common pieces cannot be upgraded; the cap grows with rarity. Upgrades use the Forge Pearl.
